My experience during practicums

Today, I'm going to talk to you about my experience during practicums. I have been training for the last six weeks, in a public school,  in Azogues. Until now, I learned a lot of new things from my professional tutor even if there has been not much time. Now, I wanna tell you about some steps that my teacher follows to have good development in her class.

First, the lesson presentation, before starting the lesson, she says "Good morning class! How are you?" It is something that she always does to get students' attention. She understands the importance of creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to express their thoughts and ideas, so during her lessons, she usually does ICQs to be sure that everything is clear, and also she always walks around the class to check if everyone is working.

Employing different methods and strategies to present the lessons, combining interactive activities, and student-centered approaches. She tends to use The grammar-translation method to emphasize the analysis of grammatical rules and the translation of sentences between the target language and the native language, it helps them in the written exercises and memorization of vocabulary. another method that she usually uses is the total physical response, to encourage her students to respond physically to commands given by her, it helps them to develop comprehension and speaking skills through movement and action.

The use of creative activities such as role-playing and group discussions, to improve students' language skills, as well as foster their critical thinking skills and cultural understanding. By integrating role-play exercises, she encourages her students to immerse themselves in different linguistic and cultural contexts, allowing them to develop a deeper appreciation of diversity and empathy. Furthermore, she employs group discussions, which fosters an environment in which students actively participate, exchange ideas and analyze different perspectives, improving their critical thinking skills.

She incorporates a variety of resources to make the learning experience interactive. Use songs, TV clips, and flashcards, take advantage of different sensory modalities to reinforce learning, and thus capture students' attention, these resources also facilitate vocabulary retention and pronunciation practice as they enjoy singing and dancing with the songs. Flashcards serve as visual aids, allowing students to associate images with words or phrases, reinforcing vocabulary acquisition.

Finally, I want to add a small reflection on the above-mentioned, I wanna say that everything I have learned helped me to understand that we as future teachers must know how to adapt to the resources that we have at our disposal since this is very important for the good management of the class.
